About our guest:

“Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

Rousanna Gevondian Curvelo and her sister of Violet Skin BoutiqueViolet – the name of my company – is my Mom?s name. My Mom, Violet a biochemist and esthetician with now almost 40 years of professional experience who always had a dream to come to the US and own her natural spa. Inspired by her childhood in Armenia where as a young girl she created her own skin care with all natural ingredients she found in her families refrigerator. She learned that fresh properties from foods, oils and herbs were actually alive and more effective in improving her skin?s appearance. Her holistic approach to well being comes from the Armenian culture where facials are a necessity rather than a luxury.

More about Rousanna:

In 1992 I moved to the USA from Armenia. I always had a passion for neuroscience and medicine, so I decided to go to nursing school to pay for my education. I became an RN and worked in many major Boston hospitals & rehabs for 5 years. Being in nursing opens your eyes. It?s based so much on prescribing medicines and treating specific issues, while unbalancing the rest of the body; it doesn?t view a person in a holistic way. I became discouraged with the current American healthcare system and patient care. For this reason, I re-routed to business school instead and finished my MBA in 2004 at Boston University. I would use my MBA to fulfill my Mom?s dream in becoming first holistic, result oriented natural spa/skin care center in New England!

My mom, sister, and I saw a need for wellness — natural spa and skin care products. We opened first Violet Skin Boutique on Newbury Street in 2004 with natural approach to skin care that included hands-on European facials, freshly mixed masks, natural skin care products & Violet?s holistic remedies. The spa earned Boston Magazine?s prestigious ?Best Facial? award at least 5 years in a row & became nationally recognition in publications, such as Martha Stewart?s Everyday Living, Rachael Ray and InStyle.

Violet’s products come from old recipes combined with a modern approach to skin care and are natural, small-batch, and fresh ? so fresh that some must be refrigerated. The Violet philosophy is a holistic approach to preserve youthful looking skin by using rare, raw regenerative and restorative active ingredients that encourage your skin?s naturally designed healing, youth preserving abilities, and are thus ideal formulas for recovery from plastic procedures and even after cancer care.

Nutrient-rich ingredients like royal jelly, raw egg yolk, cocoa butter, and fresh cut aloe dominate the line along with rare unique oils and deliver unparalleled results for Violet clients. Absolutely no preservatives or chemicals are ever use in any of our products
